    Chiranth Vishwanath takes pole in both pro-stock classes: MMSC bike Nationals

    Chennai, 6 Sept. 2024: Chiranth Vishwanath, the 17-year-old from Bengaluru who is in the middle of his breakthrough season, came up with two stunning rides to grab pole positions in both the premier Pro-Stock categories as the fourth and penultimate round of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2024 – Powered by STORM was off to a thrilling start at the Madras International Circuit, here on Friday.

    For Chiranth, it was his maiden pole position in the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category, and he followed it up by taking P1 in the Pro-Stock 165cc Open class for a rare double. His arch-rival and TVS Racing team-mate Sarthak Chavan, also 17, from Pune, will line up in P2 behind Chiranth in both the categories. Incidentally, Chiranth emulated Sarthak’s double pole that the Pune star had secured in Round 1 in June.

    The qualifying sessions dished out exciting fare with all pole-sitters leaving it very late before delivering the hot laps for P1 slots. Chennai teenager Abdul Basim (Rockers Racing) took pole position in the Novice (Stock 165cc) category as did another local rider, 25-year-old Kaushik Subbiah Ganesan (RACR Castrol Power1 Ultimate) in the Stock 301-400cc Novice class in the National Championship.

    Chiranth’s best performance on the day came in the PS 301-400cc qualifying session where he came up with a sizzling lap with a little more than a minute left to upstage Sarthak who finished ahead of veteran and Chennai ace Rajini Krishnan (RACR Castrol Power1 Ultimate).

    Chennai’s Kaushik Subbiah Ganesan, who qualified for pole position in the Stock 301-400cc (Novice) category on 6 Sept 2024.

    In P4 and P5 were TVS Racing’s Deepak Ravikumar and Alwin Sundar (Gusto Racing India), respectively, with less than a second separating the top five.

    Late in the evening, Chiranth was back in the saddle, this time in the Pro-Stock 165cc Open class qualifying session that he won with another standout performance. Yet again, Sarthak was pushed to P2 with multiple National champion Jagan Kumar making it a front row sweep for TVS Racing.

    TVS India One-Make Championship

    Coimbatore’s Senthil Kumar, the championship leader in the Open (Apache RR 310) category, warmed up for the weekend’s double-header by qualifying for the pole position. Completing the front row were Manoj Yesuadiyan from Chennai and another Coimbatore rider Raj Kumar C. Less than one second separated the trio.

    In the Girls (Apache RTR 200) category, Pune’s Saimah Ajaz Baig qualified for pole position edging out Sarah Khan (Mumbai) and Aisvariya V (Coimbatore), in another thrilling qualifying session that saw the top three finishing within a second of each other.

    Shyam Sundar from Chennai came out on top in the qualifying session in the NSF 250R category, followed by Bengaluru’s Prakash Kamat and Siddesh Sawant (Kolhapur). Another Bengalurean, Savion Sabu was at P4, less than a second behind the top three.

    Chennai, 21 July 2024: Two teenagers, Jaden Rahman Pariat (MRF Formula 2000) and Abhay Mohan (MRF Formula 1600) continued their assault on the titles with splendid victories on Sunday at the Madras International Circuit here as the curtains came down on the third round of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Car Racing Championship 2024 – Powered by STORM-X.

    While 17-year-old Jaden from Shillong came up with two super-aggressive drives for a double on Sunday to add to his five wins in the previous two rounds in February, while Bengaluru’s 16-year Abhay Mohan, in only his first season in single-seater racing, completed a sweep of nine consecutive victories, including a triple crown this weekend. Both are in good space to clinch the championship titles in their respective categories with one more round remaining.

    Jaden also won the Indian Oil special award for clocking the fastest lap (01min, 33.155secs) of the weekend across all categories.

    Elsewhere, Mumbai’s Biren Pithawalla (N1 Racing) also achieved a triple without facing much of a challenge to remain unbeaten in the Indian Touring Cars category. Hatim Shabbir from Chennai (Performance Racing) also won all the three races in the highly- competitive Indian Junior Touring Cars class to come within three points of leader and team-mate Srinivas Teja.

    Redline Racing’s Justin Singh from Gurugram drove well enough to win two of the three races this weekend in the Super Stock category which provisionally placed him six points behind championship leader Bala Prasath (DTS Racing) from Coimbatore who won the other race in the triple-header.

    Meanwhile, DTS Racing’s Viswas Vijayaraj from Nellore extended his championship lead to 63 points by completing a treble in the Formula LGB 1300 category, showcasing his skills and maturity in no uncertain terms. His best outing came in Race-2 today that he won after starting from P5 on the reverse grid.

    Pune’s Diana Pundole, a mother of two, picked up sufficient points in the three MRF Saloons (Toyota Etios) races over the weekend to lead the points table though she failed to win any of the outings. Chikkamagaluru’s 20-year, final year student of St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru, Tarushi Vikram also enjoyed a good weekend, with a P3 finish in one race and top-five in the other two that has provisionally placed her third in the championship. Fighting with boys on equal footing, Tarushi won a podium place with admirable skill. The Chikkamagaluru driver, earlier took part in the Rally Star Cup.

    In the Polo Cup that witnessed fierce competition up and down the grid, Lonavla’s Dhruv Chavan and Aditya Patnaik from Mumbai shared the honours by winning two races apiece.

    Jaden Pariat dominates the opening round of MMSC Car Racing Nationals; Triple for Abhay

    Chennai, 18 February 2024: Teenager Jaden Rahaman Pariat of Shillong showcased his immense talent dishing out high speeds that touched 199 kmph dominated the opening round of the National races in the MRF Formula 2000 class. He won the final two races after losing an unexpected first race, which he was leading by over 18 seconds, but lost in the final lap with his engine playing a stop-start game. “I had to switch it on for at least eight times. But I am glad I could salvage the second place an the points,’” quipped the gentle giant who did a few races in the British F4 last year. “I feel this car is much faster and powerful than the ones at British F4,” he revealed.

    Diana Pundole, the lady from Pune, bulldozed her way to two victories in the saloon class dominating a male field to begin the season on a promising note. Last year, she ended up second in many races and is raring to go for the champion ship this season.

    Meanshile, Bengaluru’s Abhay Mohan, the youngest competitor at 15 years of age, in the MRF Formula 1600 category, swept to a triple crown while as the first round of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Car Racing Championship 2024 concluded at the Madras International Circuit here on Sunday.

    Mumbai’s Biren Pithawalla (Team N1 Racing) crowned himself with a grand double in the Indian Touring Cars category as did Angad Matharoo (Buzzing Hornet Motorsport) from Chandigarh in the Super Stock class.

    Also notching a double was Pune’s Diana Pundole, a mother of two, in the MRF Saloons (Toyota Etios) category besides one P3 finish, while DTS Racing dominated the Formula LGB 1300 triple-header, with a podium sweep as Nellore’s Viswas Vijayaraj won two races and team-mate Arya Singh, the other with Balaprasath finishing third in all three outings.

    Jaden, the 17-year-old from Shillong, displayed impressive pace to win both the races today in the MRF F2000 category to make up for his P2 finish yesterday when he surrendered a massive lead in the last lap due to engine issues. Bengaluru’s Chetan Surineni, the Race-1 winner yesterday, came in second in both the outings today.

    Reviewing his performance this weekend, Jaden said: “I did some preparation by watching my onboard videos from my December race. I realised there was plenty in the car. It was a question of putting things together which I did this weekend. I feel there is still a lot I can extract from this car. Of course, my stint in British Formula 4 helped, but the F2000 is far quicker and I felt very comfortable this weekend.”

    Abhay Mohan, as in the first race yesterday, was in a league of his own in both the outings today to complete a triple crown and underline his talent and potential. “My only target for this round was to be on top, which I did. The car too was pretty good and so were the MRF tyres. My preparation was to get fit and learn from my Formula LGB 1300 outing last season. Yes, I feel good to have won all three races this weekend,” said Abhay.

    Biren, having won a close Race-1 on Saturday, started P4 on the reverse grid in today’s 10-lap Race-2, but in the very first lap, seized the lead, hotly pursued by Ritesh Rai (Arka Motorsport) and, cousin and team-mate Ananth Pithawalla.

    The trio quickly distanced themselves from the pack before both Rai and Ananth packed up with punctures. Rai rejoined after a visit to the pit, but it was too late. Ananth suffered yet another tyre-burst to finish the weekend without points. Meanwhile, Biren was in cruise mode and comfortably won the race ahead of pole-sitter Pratik Sonawane (Buzzing Hornet Motorsport) and Deepak Ravikumar (Team Performance Racing).

    Down the combined grid, Srinivas Teja (Team Performance Racing) edged out Race-1 winner and team-mate Hatim Shabbir Jamnagarwala in the Indian Junior Touring Cars class, while Matharoo fought his way to his second win of the weekend with a late burst in the Super Stock category.
