Rehan Khan to race Champion of Future Academy karting series
Chennai, 20 February 2025: Rehan Khan, a 11-year-old Chennai school boy, is selected for the prestigious Champion of the Future Academy Programme and will be racing for a full season in Europe and other cities from February to November in 2025.
In its second year, the Champions of the Future Academy Programme offers six rounds during six weekends. The first two days during the Round 1 race week-end are set for the drivers to get acquainted with the material and officials. Later, another five double-header race weekends are scheduled for the season. Four of them will be in Europe and two at Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
With an aim to promote professional kart racing through the arrive-and-drive concept, the Academy programme hosted by RGMMC, travels to high-level circuits in Portugal, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Qatar and Abu Dhabhi.
As a student at Don Bosco Egmore School, Rehan has already made a mark in Indian motorsports, excelling in his class in the 2024 season.
Rehan’s talent has earned him a place in the globally recognised Champion of the Future Academy Programme, where he will join 36 other karting prodigies from around the world. This opportunity will allow him to further develop his skills and compete in Europe. Rehan demonstrated unwavering consistency in his performances last year.
The Champion of the Future Academy Programme offers young drivers the training and exposure needed to compete at the highest level of motorsport.

Shahan Ali Mohsin, youngest to win Sr National Karting title
Shahan will represent India in the Grand Final at Sarno in Italy between October 19 to 26 where drivers from nearly 60 countries will participate

An INDIAinF1 image Bengaluru, 25 August 2019: Talented Agra racer, Shahan Ali Mohsin won the JK Tyre fmsci Senior National Karting Championship and became the youngest to bag the senior crown as the Nationals concluded at Meco Kartopia on Satuday.
In the fifth and final round, Shahan came third in the Pre-final race and went on to claim the second place in the Final in a wet race after the slight rain but the two podium places were enough as he went into the last round with a 12-point advantage.
“First of all, it was a big relief to get over the line,” Shahan said sporting a smile, as ever. “Even though you have a handy lead, it is still that you need to finish the weekend. A small technical error and it can snatch away all your points. There is no doubt that I am extremely happy to become the youngest driver to win in the Senior category of the Indian National Karting championship.”
Shahan, who also started to take part in the Formula racing this season, took part in the Round 2 of the MRF F1600 Championship at Chennai this month but had a mixed bad as he encountered rain for the first time in his single-seater career. But this week-end, he was back to his karting roots for the final round of 2019 JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Championship.

The year helped him to learn the nitty-gritty at the senior level and now he is crowned as the youngest Indian National Karting champion in the Senior category. Juniors are allowed to compete in the senior category as per the guidelines set by the FIA and CIK, especially with regards to the age limit.
It was a straightforward start to his weekend as he qualified on pole and won Heat 1 and Heat 2 but after the rains, he was cautious and the two podiums were enough for his to seal the championship.
It was Shahan’s sixth championship win in four years. The Senior title of 2019 adds to his 2015 Indian National Cadets, 2016 Asian Cadets, 2016 Indian National Cadets, 2018 Indian National Junior, and 2018 Indian Junior X30 series.
“It was a day of mixed weather as it started out to dry but the two races towards the end were under tricky conditions, with the finals being a crazy race where we were running on the slick tyres in wet conditions. It was all about bringing the kart home with enough points to seal the championship. A big thanks to my team MSport and JK Tyre without whom, this wasn’t possible.”

Raiden, Nirvaan take top-2 slots in Novice class at Sepang
Sepang, 26 July 2019: Indian kart racers from Team Rayo Racing, Raiden Samervel, and Nirvaan Chandna put up a fine show bagging first and second in the Novice Category of the fourth round of the AutoInc Asia Max Challenge 2019 at Sepang, Malaysia, last Sunday. Both teenagers participated in the Micro Max category and finished 12th and 13th overall, respectively.Qualifying saw Timofey Mikhaylov grab overall pole position with a lap time of 55.141 seconds. Thirteen-year-old Nirvaan posted a lap time of 56.623 seconds, to emerge quickest in the Novice category. Teammate Raiden was a mere 7 hundredths of a second behind, with a lap time of 56.696, second out of the six novices on the grid.
The Heat 1 saw the two Indians start eleventh and twelfth and in a relatively straight forward race, Raiden managed to get ahead to finish ninth, one second ahead of Nirvaan in tenth.
Heat 2 proved to be a big setback for the weekend. The duo started well, with Nirvaan managing to move ahead. Unfortunately, he made contact with another racer ahead, launching his kart into the air and he landed in the path of Raiden. The two collided & fell right down the order to last & eventually finished at the tail end.
The finals had all racers start on the basis of their Pre Final result, which saw Raiden start eleventh, while Nirvaan started fourteenth. The very close & competitive mid grid meant that there was little the duo could do to move up the order. Although Raiden improved his lap time marginally he finished twelfth, 1.3 seconds ahead of Nirvaan in thirteenth. In the novice category, the duo was first and second, ahead of Eason.“It was unfortunate that the incident in heat 2 played an important role, in them not being able to produce a good result in the final. I would have been happier if they could have translated their pace from practice into the races. However, considering that it is only their second race weekend at this level and that they outperformed all other novices, it is a credible performance.” said Steve Hodges, Technical Director of Rayo Racing, who accompanied the racers to Malaysia.
Action1 “Racing at the Asian Rotax at the 1.2km Sepang circuit in Malaysia was very exciting. I was up against the best and it was a great learning experience. Winning the Novice Category was a moment I will never forget!” said 12-year-old Raiden Samervel.
Nirvaan Chandna added “The race weekend was a good learning experience, especially driving on the Sepang international kart circuit, which is quite a fast track. Racing against so many racers from around Asia also taught me a lot. I intend to work harder and do better.”

Photo: David B Bengaluru, 3 Nov 2018: Keen competition is on cards as the National Karting Championship reaches the final round of the 2018 season. The number of competitors may be less but the competition remains high as champions in all the three classes will be decided only on the final day on Sunday with 89 points at stake.
The fifth and final round of the Meco Motorsports FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship 2018 began here at the Meco Kartopia track on Saturday with practice sessions and heats run in Micro Max, Junior Max, and Senior Max classes.
Shahan Ali M0hsin at Meco Kartopia In the Senior Max, Debarun Banerjee of MSports is leading the championship with 346 points while teammate A Balaprasanth is on 331 and Rayo Racing’s Danesh Vakharia garnered 316. Banerjee won three of the four finals and two pre-finals in the previous four rounds with Bala Prasanth winning the third round final. Danish won the pre-finals in the third round but failed to finish the final thus losing crucial points and is now 30 points behind the leader. All the three will be going all out on Sunday with fourth-placed Shahan Ali Mohsin, also of MSports, breathing on their necks in fourth place with 314 points.
Shahan is comfortably placed in the Junior Max section, though. Winning six races from 8 starts, the MSports karter has 351 points ahead of Mihir Suman Avalakki, who is the only other winner taking both the pre-finals and finals in the second round. He is on 332 points and a further five points behind in third is K Suriya Varathan, also of MSports and Birel Art’s M R Rishon is on 325 points.
Ishaan Madesh ends a session on Saturday at Meco Kartopia in Bengaluru. Ishaan is leading the Micro Max championship table with 351 points In Micro Max class, Madesh brothers, Ishaan, and Rohaan of Peregrine Racing lead the championship with 351 and 345 points respectively with teammate Sathvik Raju in third place with 320 points. Birel Art’s Abhay M is closely placed in the fourth spot with 318 followed by another Peregrine karter Jagrat Detroja on 313 points. Though Mathematically any of the top five can win the title, the fight is essentially between the two brothers where the younger Madesh did some smart manoeuvres in the previous round and is just six points behind. After a shaky start in the first two rounds, Ishaan Madesh dominated the Micromax category winning all the four races in the previous two rounds. He lost both the races in the second round and the pre-finals in the first round but recovered to take the lead. But with only six points separating the brothers, Sunday will witness a keen battle.
The pre-finals winner will take home 34 points while a win the final is worth 55 points. The numbers on the grid may be less but no inch is given as the season comes to the business end.

Karter Akshay passes away in a road accident; Aaroh excels in Pro-Sr class: Pune IndiKarting
Pune: Overwhelming response saw 119 karters take part in India’s last karting race of the season, the IndiKarting Go-Kart Race as participants from across all categories revved up their engines and showcased their talent here on Tuesday.
The successful event was, however, marred by some sad news, later that night put the entire racing community into grief. A pal of gloom engulfed as news came in that Akshay Patil passed away in a road accident. Akshay finished runner-up in the Pro-Senior Category. The Pro-Junior and Senior classes saw some refreshing new faces. Reigning National Champion Aaroh Ravindra, had technical issues and qualified well down the order in 8th. The Pro-Cadet witnessed intense competition and very exciting racing across all three races. So close were the overall results that the three racers were tied on points at the top. Aman Singh Bhui (Chandrabhan Sharma College) won the Inter-College category ahead of Akshay More (Bandodkar College) and Asad Kadegaongar (Coplen University, Singapore). Pratham Chaoudhary (Fountain Gate) won the Inter School category ahead of Rohaan Aggarwal (Cathedral and John Connon, Mumbai). Kshitij Mahajani (Bishops) was third.
Suraj Bhui of Amrit Elastomers won the Corporate Category ahead of Jatin Vora of Jet Airways and Arish Daver from Indigo Airlines. Mayank Kundu won the Senior Plus category ahead of Mohd. Raza Shaikh and Kejas Shah. Mithlesh Jain won the Women’s Category ahead of Aishwarya Dhumal and Naomi Aggarwal. The Master Category saw a close fight too with Arish Daver emerging winner ahead of Clive Joshua and Kejas Shah.
The entire racing fraternity was shocked with grief, when early next morning news came in, of the tragic passing away of Akshay Patil in a road accident. Akshay finished runner-up

Commanding show, including a hat-trick, gets maiden title for Aaroh Ravindra; Rayo Racing tops

The Mumbai youngster has consistently dominated the championship ever since his victory in round 1 at Hyderabad. He completed a hat-trick of victories at the end of Round 3 and already had a commanding lead of 27 points in the National Championship by then.
Aaroh qualified 2nd as the weekend began, after Nirmal USB of M Sport clinched pole position with a lap time of 54.694, a mere 2 hundredths of a second ahead of Aaroh. Manav Sharma was third. Heat 1 saw Nirmal lead from pole & win the heat, while Aaroh won the 2nd heat, ahead of Nirmal.
The pre final saw Nirmal from Chennai, once again start from pole & win ahead of Aaroh & Manav. Aaroh’s earned enough points in the pre final, to be practically assured of the title, irrespective of the outcome of the final. However, Aaroh was not content with merely finishing.
he final saw Nirmal pulling away as soon as the green flag dropped, while Aaroh fell to third. He regained second, coming out of corner 2 but lost ground immediately to Akash. Soon, it was Rayo Racing 2nd & 3rd as both Aaroh & Aanjan overtook Akash on lap 3. Mid-way through the race, Nirmal picked a puncture which promoted the Rayo Racing duo into 1st & 2nd. Aanjan being quicker, soon passed Aaroh for the lead & won a really close race. Aaroh crossed the line a mere 0.3 seconds behind Aanjan, while local lad Akash finished 3rd, ahead of another Bengaluru lad – Danesh Vakharia from Rayo Racing.
Bengaluru’s Chirag Ghorpade from BPC racing won the junior finals ahead of M Sport Racing boys, Shahan Mohsin from Agra & Yash Aradhya from Bengaluru. Bengaluru boys sealed the Micro Max podium as Ruhaan Alva of Birel Art won the finals ahead of Rohaan Madhesh of Peregrine Racing & Rishon MR from Birel Art.
Aaroh’s domination in the Senior National Championship saw him pick the award for most wins in the entire championship. His worst finish of the season being a 2nd place, he won the National Title with a lead of 33 points & earns himself a ticket to represent India in the World Finals at Portugal in November. Aaroh’s participation in the series came as a result of his sponsorship from Tata Motors, JK Tyres, Rayo Racing & IndiKarting after finishing runner up in the JK Tyre IndiKarting National Series last year. The winner of that series – Aanjan Patodia, finished 3rd overall behind Nirmal USB in spite of not finishing a couple of races. He tied on points with Rayo Racing Teammate – Danesh Vakharia.
Yash Aradhya of M Sport, with 2 victories in the season, won the junior title by 9 points from Chirag Ghorpade & Shahan Mohsin. Arjun Rajiv won the Micro title by 8 points, ahead of Ruhaan Alva & Rishon MR.
“It was an amazing start to the year, with a hat trick of victories. A double runner-up finish in the last 2 rounds was not bad either. It has been hard work by everyone involved & I really want to thank Steve for his efforts, as well as all our sponsors & my family for their support” said an ecstatic Aaroh after the prize distribution ceremony.
He continued, “I have had very limited track time over the last 2 years due to the lack of a budget. The World Finals are going to be tough competing against the 72 best drivers from around the world, but I will be working hard over the next few weeks to prepare in the best possible way.”
As reported earlier, Aaroh Ravindra, Yash Aradhya and Ruhaan Alva, will represent India, in the World Rotax Finals in Portimao, Portugal from 5th to 11th November, as the champions from over 50 countries will vie for the title of World Rotax Champion 2017. Over 300 competitors will race at this prestigious World Finals.

Team Rayo Racing won the team championship while Nirmal Umashankar became the best driver of the year.
Ruhaan Alva, won the final race of the fifth and final round in the Micro Max class at the Meco Kartopia in the Rotax Max Karting National Championship organised by Meco Motorsports under the aegis of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs in India (fmsci) here on Sunday.
However, the 11-year old Bengaluru boy, who recently won the second runners-up place in the Italian EasyKart 60cc championship, was given a third place after the stewards’ ruling following a protest. That did not, however, deny him a second place in the Micro Max championship.

Ruhaan’s teammate Arjun Rajiv could only finish sixth and fifth in the two races this week-end but that was enough for him to garner a total tally of 416 points, eight more than Ruhaan, to win the Championship crown. Rishon MR, also of Birel Art India, came third for a clean sweep by the Birel team. Both Ruhaan and Rishon had 408 points.
In the Senior Max championship, it was Aaroh Ravindra of Rayo Racing who won the National title with 436 points after he finished second in both the races in the last round here. Nirmal Umashankar of MSport was second with a tally of 403 points while Aanjan Patodia, also of Rayo Racing, got the second runners-up with 388 points.
It was Yash Aradhya of MSport who won the National Championship in the Junior Max category with 432 points edging out Chirag Ghorpade, who won both the pre-finals andn finals this week-end but fell short by six points in his last-round dash with only 423 points. Yash came third in the pre-final and second in the last race of the season. Shahan Ali Mohsin MSport came third with 405 points with a second and third place this week-end.

Ruhaan Alva finishes ninth overall in tough field
Nottingham, October 6: Bangalore lad Ruhaan Alva capped his 2014 stint of karting in the United Kingdom with a commendable ninth overall in the ‘B’ final of the Little Green Man Championship at the PF International Circuit here on Sunday. He is with team Fusion Motorsport.
The eight-year-old has moved out of the novice class, in which he got several podium places, and is competing in the overall category that has drivers more experienced than himself.
“I am happy with the effort and look forward to coming back next year,” said an excited Ruhaan. “I was overjoyed when the spectators cheered me for overtaking six other experienced drivers. This gives me confidence. To finish ninth overall feels good, particularly since I am not competing in the novice class anymore.”
Ruhaan was 10th fastest in qualifying out of a field of 30 drivers and had three heats to decide on the start order. He started 21st in the first heat and ended up finishing where he started. In the second heat he started sixth and was shunted out at the first corner and had to begin from last position and made up five places to finish 25th. In the final heat, Ruhaan started in 21st and finished 24th since he got blocked at the start.

Tough field promises exciting action in JK Tyre Rotax Max Karting Nationals
Hyderabad, 25 June 2014: Close to 50 drivers, including the country’s top karters and new entrants, will be seen battling across three categories in the JK Tyre National Rotax Max Karting Championship 2014 under the aegis of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) which kicks off at the Kart Centre, Lahiri Resorts, in Hyderabad this weekend.
The championship, spread over five rounds, will be held across Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Bangalore in the Micro Max (7 to 12 years), Junior Max (13 to 16 years) and Senior Max (15 years and above) categories.
Bangalore’s BPC Racing is the new team in the fray and will challenge established teams like Mohites Racing, Rayo Racing, Dark Don Racing and Meco Racing for honours. Vishnu Prasad, Krishnaraj Mahadik and Pradyumn V Danigond, the 2013 champions in Senior Max, Junior Max and Micro Max respectively, have confirmed participation, while other well-known names such as Chittesh Mandody, Akhil Rabindra, Ameya Bafna and Nayan Chatterjee, besides the younger lot of Kush Maini, Paul Francis, Nikhil Bora, Yash Aradhaya and girl karter Mira Erda, will also be seen in action.
The qualifying rounds, followed by heats, will be held on Saturday while the warm-up races on Sunday will be followed by the pre-finals and finals. The winners of the championship will get to participate in the Rotax Grand Finals in the United States.
