TVS’ Karan Kadam takes honours at Round 3
Coimbatore, 8 October 2006: The young prodigy from Team TVS Racing Karan Kadam scored a double by emerging victorious in the first and second moto of the prestigious foreign open class thereby earning maximum points and being adjudged as the ‘Best Rider of the Day’ at the third round of the 2006 season of the MRF National Supercross held in Coimbatore at the Racing Track near Jenny Club, Airport Road, Coimbatore.
Karan Kadam on his TVS 250X earned a total of 40 points after his victorious win. Both the motos were hard fought with the top three riders displaying amazing skill and endurance in a highly demanding track. In the first moto, Karan Kadam roared into the lead at the first turn and kept his lead winning with a handsome lead over the second placed C Vijaykumar of Team TVS Racing. It was an incident packed race with C S Santosh of Team TVS Racing and T. K. Viswanath colliding on the second jump of the first lap. He tried gamely to wrest second place position but was thwarted by an equally determined Vijaykumar. Vijaykumar finished second and Santosh finished third.
The second moto saw a close fight between Karan and Santosh. Karan took the lead at the first bend and held on to it till the end despite constant challenges from Santosh. Santosh almost overtook Karan on at the second turn of lap 8, but Karan managed to keep him at bay. Santosh however had the measure of Vijaykumar in this race and built a steady gap ensuring he came in a comfortable second. Vijay Kumar tried his best but he could not close the gap, and came in third behind Karan and Santosh there by making it all TVS Riders on podium.
The group B Indian Experts upto 150 CC 2-Stroke saw a clear winner in C. Vijaykumar of TVS Racing on his TVS Shaolin even though C.D Jinan took the initial lead. Vijaykumar overtook Jinan in the last jump of the first lap and built up a huge lead ensuring a comfortable victory. Sayed Zubbair of Team TVS Racing came second and C. D. Jinan of TVS Racing came third.
In the Group B Indian Experts upto 250cc 4-Stroke, Pradeep H. K. of Team TVS Racing proved his class by taking honours on his TVS Fiero. It must be said that Pradeep showed remarkable aggression and a burning desire to win as he hurled himself and his machine into corners increasing his lead over his rivals with every round. Deepak John and Pramod Joshua both from Team TVS Racing came second and third respectively.
In the Indian Experts Group D 80 CC to 110 CC class it was C. D. Jinan on his TVS Fiero who raced ahead of the others to cap the top spot, with Pradeep H. K and Pramod Joshua coming second and third respectively.
In the Indian Expert Group D, 110 CC up to 180 CC it was Pradeep H. K once again who took top honours. C D Jinan came a close second and Deepak John finished third. Team TVS Racing dominated all these races with all the three podium positions going to the team.
In the Novice class upto 150 cc; Pramod Joshua on his Shogun, dominated to win in commanding style, with Pinkesh Thakkar and K.C. Grishin coming second and third respectively.
The local class saw some interesting action between various talented and upcoming riders. But it was Grishin from Trichoor who took the initial lead and went on to the podium. C S Anandkumar and D Sivaji came 2 nd and 3rd respectively.

Vijaykumar, Karan Kadam win a moto each; Vijay, best rider
Chennai, 20 August 2006: Three-time National champion C Vijaykumar of TVS Racing emerged victorious in the first moto and came third in the second moto of the prestigious foreign open class thereby earning maximum points and being adjudged as the ‘Best Rider of the Day’ at the second round of the 2006 season of the MRF National Supercross held in Chennai at the C. Kandaswamy College for Men, Annanagar Chennai in the presence of over a 6,000 strong crowd.
Vijaykumar on his TVS 250X earned a total of 35 points after he emerged victorious in the first moto and third in the second moto of the prestigious foreign open class. Both the motos were hard fought with the top three riders displaying amazing skill and endurance in a highly demanding track. In the first moto, Vijaykumar gained the initial lead but T. K. Viswanath on his YZ 250F was hot on his heels. Vijay though, held on splendidly to his lead, before a fall forced T. K. Viswanath to lose considerable ground. In the midst of this one saw the heroic efforts of C. S. Santosh who had a fall but came back strongly to challenge T. K. Viswanath. Riding at breakneck speed, Santosh tried his level best to wrest the second position but was thwarted by an equally determined Viswanath. The fight for second place was a hotly contested one with Viwanath coming in second and Santosh coming in third.
The second moto saw T. K. Viswanath take the lead at the first bend and hold on to it for a couple of laps before a disastrous fall deprived him of his lead. The young prodigy from Team TVS, Karan Kadam seized this opportunity and roared into the lead sending the crowds into raptures at his sheer skill and daredevil riding. Soon, Karan stamped his authority on the race and established a huge lead. There was a tussle for the second place between Vijay and Santosh. Santosh however had the measure of Vijay in this race and built a steady gap ensuring he came in a comfortable second. Vijay Kumar tried his best but he could not close the gap, and came in third behind Karan and Santosh.

It must be said that Jinan showed remarkable aggression and a burning desire to win as he hurled himself and his machine into corners increasing his lead over his rivals with every round.
In the Indian Experts Group D 125 CC to 160 CC class it was C. D. Jinan once again this on his TVS Fiero who raced ahead of the others to cap the top spot. TVS Racing dominated both these races with all the three podium positions going to the team.
In the Novice class upto 150 cc; Pramod Joshua of TVS Racing in his Shogun, dominated to win in commanding style. The local class saw some interesting fight between various talented and upcoming riders. But it was E. Clarke on his TVS Fiero who led the pack with an easy lead. C. Anandkumar and P. Ramesh Kumar came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the Intermediate class of foreign open for privateers T. K. Viswanath dominated and won with ease. The only serious threat to him was Eeshan Lokhande who did well too coming in second.

Vijaykumar claims honours in Round 1
Pune, 14 May 2006 : Three-time National champion C Vijaykumar of TVS Racing called the shots at the first round of 2006 season of the MRF National Supercross Championship at the floodlit Deccan College Ground, here in the presence of over 10,000 crowd on Sunday.
Vijaykumar on his TVS 125X earned the maximum 40 points after he emerged victorious in the both motos of the prestigious foreign open class and earned the well-deserved ‘rider of the day’. It was not that he did not have any challenge! The 16-year-old wonder boy Karan Kadam, again from TVS Racing on TVS 125X, posed a serious threat to Vijaykumar right till the chequered flag. In the first moto, Vijaykumar gained the initial lead but before the completion of the 2nd lap Karan Kadam raced ahead stylishly at a triple jump. Karan held on the lead position for another 2 laps till he was caught in a tangle with Vijaykumar who was behind his back chasing. Then it was no looking back for Vijaykumar till the end of the race. Karan followed closely to become second and the local lad Yogesh Barguje on his Honda CR 450 became a third.
The second moto saw repeat results of the first moto with the top three winners being the same. This time too Karan Kadam posed a serious threat to Vijaykumar. It will be interesting to watch the next round when the reigning champion C S. Santosh is expected to join the race. Santosh could not make it to this round of the supercross due to a collarbone injury.
The group B Indian Experts upto 150 CC 2-Stroke saw a clear winner in C. Vijaykumar of TVS Racing on his TVS Shaolin. Behind him were Austin F Aluares in the Yamaha RX135 and R Raja on Yamaha RX 100 who were second and third respectively.
In the stock class of vehicles or in other words motorcycles without any modification; C. D Jinan of TVS Racing proved his class once again by taking honours in the Indian Experts Group D 80 CC to 110 CC on his TVS Victor. In the Indian Experts Group D 125 CC to 160 CC class Pradeep HK of TVS Racing on his TVS Fiero raced ahead of others to cap the top spot. TVS Racing dominated both these races with all the three podium positions going to the team.
In the Novice class upto 150 cc; Joshua Pramod of TVS Racing in his Shogun, inspite of having two falls, fought it out to win the top spot.
The local class saw some interesting fight between various talented and upcoming riders. But it was Vishal Barguje on his TVS Shaolin who led the pack with an easy lead. Sunil Mohite and Snehal Chavan came close 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the Intermediate class of foreign open for privateers local lad Yogesh Barguje won with ease. The only serious threat to him was Eeshan Lokhande who did well too.

Vijaykumar falls to CS Santosh; Bengalurean wins both motos
Vadodara, 23 October 2005: TVS Racing team dominated the 3rd round of the MRF National Supercross Championship by taking top honours in all of the Six Championship classes of the races held in Vadodra’s Akota Stadium, on Sunday. For once the reigning champion C Vijaykumar of TVS Racing fell behind his fellow rider C. S. Santosh who proved supreme by taking top honours in both motos of the prestigious ‘Foreign Open class’. He collected the maximum 40 points and earned ‘The Best Rider of the Day’ title.
The day began with the First moto of the Indian Experts Foreign Motorcycle where C Vijaykumar of TVS Racing managed to take an early lead till C. S. Santosh of TVS Racing with great dexterity overtook the former to emerge top in a thrilling finish. The 15 year old Karan Kadam who is riding for the first time this season for TVS Racing came a close 3rd. The second moto too saw a similar fight till Vijaykumar taking a fall, which put him in 3rd behind Santosh and Karan Kadam.
The group B Indian Experts upto 150 CC 2-Stroke was no battle for C. Vijaykumar of TVS Racing except for the strong performance by C. S. Santosh of TVS Racing who closely came behind the former. Veteran motocross expert, Rustom Patel came a distant 3rd.
In the stock class of vehicles or in other words motorcycles without any modification; Syed Zubair of TVS Racing proved his class by taking honours in the Indian Experts Group D 80 CC to 110 CC in his TVS Victor. TVS Racing dominated this class with all the three podium positions going to the team. Deepak John of TVS Racing took top honours in the Indian Experts Group D 125 CC to 160 CC in his TVS Fiero F2.

CS Santosh, Eathasham share honours; Vijaykumar keeps lead
Pune, 15 May 2005: TVS Racing team continued its dominance at the second round of the MRF National Supercross Championship by winning 4 and sharing honours in the foreign open class among the total of 6 Championship classes held in floodlit Pune’s Deccan College Ground, today. The foreign open class points were shared between C. S. Santosh of TVS Racing and Yamaha’s Syed Eathasham. The reigning champion C Vijaykumar of TVS Racing continues to lead the championship in the prestigious ‘Foreign Open class’ with 70 points closely followed by C. S. Santosh with 67 and Yogesh Barguje of Yamaha with 60 points.
The day began with the First moto of the Indian Experts Foreign Motorcycle where C. S. Santosh of TVS Racing inspite of having a poor start managed to overcome other riders and emerged victorious with a huge lead. Syed Eathasham of Yamaha racing managed to hold on to his second position though C. Vijaykumar nearly threatened him. Vijaykumar finished third in a well fought battle. The second moto of the race saw a change in fortunes with Syed Eathasham managing to take an early lead and maintain it till the end. Full credit to Santosh to reach second as he was last in the rung till about 5 laps. He zipped past others to emerge a close second. Vijaykumar could manage only a third.

Vijaykumar of TVS Racing, had to pull back due to technical problem with his bike. C. S. Santosh of TVS Racing capitalized on this and emerged second followed by Yogesh Barguje of Yamaha.
In the Novice class upto 150 cc; Syed Zubbair of TVS Racing in his Shogun fought it out to win the first spot as he continued his winning spree from the first round held at Goa. Mohammad Azgar of Yamaha closely followed him.
The local class saw some interesting fight between Pinkesh Thakker and Sunil Mohite; though the former managed to maintain his lead till the end. Vishal Barguje managed third.

Vijaykumar bags double in top class; TVS Racing Sweeps MRF National Supercross
Panjim (Goa), 8 May 2005: TVS Racing team dominated the first round of the MRF National Supercross Championship by winning Five of the Six Championship classes of the races held in Panjim’s Campal Parade Ground, today. Ace rider and the reigning champion C Vijaykumar of TVS Racing proved his class in the presence of a huge Sunday morning crowd by dominating both the Motos of the prestigious ‘Foreign Open class’. He came first in both the Motos taking his point tally to 40 and also earned ‘The Best Rider of the Day’ title.
The day began with the First moto of the Indian Experts Foreign Motorcycle where C Vijaykumar of TVS Racing managed to take an early lead, which he maintained and consolidated till the end. Yogesh Barguje of Yamaha Racing and C. S Santosh of TVS Racing who came 2nd and 3rd respectively battled it out as the latter almost edged out the former in the final bend. The second moto of the race saw a repeat performance with C Vijaykumar emerging clear winner followed by Barguje and Santosh who took the 2nd and 3rd spot.
In the stock class of vehicles or in other words motorcycles without any modification; C. D Jinan of TVS Racing proved his class by taking honours in the Indian Experts Group D 80 CC to 110 CC in his TVS Victor. TVS Racing dominated this class with all the three podium positions going to the team. Jinan also took the honours in the Indian Experts Group D 125 CC to 160 CC in his TVS Fiero F2.
The group B Indian Experts upto 150 CC 2-Stroke saw a four-way battle between Syed Eathasham, Yogesh Barguje, C. Vijaykumar and C. Santosh. Though Santosh looked very promising he fell back to the 4th position in a tangle between the riders. In the end Syed Eathasham managed to emerge 1st. Yogesh and Vijaykumar took the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively. This was the only class where Yamaha managed to take the top spot.
In the Novice class upto 150 cc; Syed Zubbair of TVS Racing in his Shogun fought it out to win the first spot. He was closely followed by Yamaha’s Joshua Pramod and S. Arun of TVS Racing.
The local class saw some interesting fight between Gordon Furtado and Mohmad Kadar with the latter taking lead till the penultimate lap. Kadar’s bike hit a technical snag and gave way for Gordon. Imtiaz Kadar came a distant second followed by Fidle Furtado who took the third spot.

TVS’ C Vijaykumar consolidates position in Foreign Open class
Pune, 26 Sept 2004: TVS Racing continued its dominance at the end of 4th round of the MRF National Motocross Championship held in Pune as C. Vijaykumar consolidated his overall lead to a total of 135 points in the prestigious Indian Experts Foreign Open Class, despite injury. In a battle that is always fought with true grit i.e., foreign open class; the first moto saw top 3 positions by TVS Racing with Vijaykumar taking the lead followed by H. K Pradeep and C. S. Santosh. Though Syed Eathasham of Yamaha Racing was leading till the 7th lap it was Vijaykumar who sprung from nowhere to emerge a clear winner. C. S. Santosh who was leading in the second position gave way to Pradeep for the third position as he struggled with two falls.
The second moto had a different story as Karan Kadam of Yamaha Racing overcame others to bag the top position. C. S. Santosh of TVS Racing put up a valiant fight to come 2nd closely followed by Yogesh Barguje of Yamaha Racing at 3rd. The reigning champion C. Vijaykumar of TVS Racing managed only 6th position as an injury caused by a fall in Indian Experts Group B upto 150 CC 2-stroke race slowed him considerably. Karan Kadam was declared the overall winner by 33 points followed by Santosh with 32 points.
It was truly Santosh’s (TVS Racing) day as he garnered maximum podium positions. He came overall 2nd in the Indian Experts Foreign Open and Number one in Indian Experts Group B upto 150 CC 2 stroke and Indian Experts Group B upto 180 CC four Stroke.
The group B Indian Experts upto 150 CC 2-Stroke too saw some exciting race. C. Vijaykumar of TVS Racing who was a strong contender for the race had a massive fall and had to settle for a DNF. His counterpart C. S Santosh cruised towards the finishing line. Syed Eathasham and Yogesh Barguje of Yamaha Racing came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Another winner of the day was the experienced C. D. Jinan of TVS Racing who took the top honours in the Group D upto 180 CC riding TVS Fiero F2. He took a formidable lead right at the beginning and managed to maintain his pace though Sridhar Urs of Yamaha was just few yards behind him.
The other class which Yamaha Racing took number one position was the Class D Indian Experts upto 110 CC where Sridhar Urs of Yamaha emerged winner. C.D. Jinan of TVS Racing and Shivakumar of Yamaha came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The Novice class was taken by Yamaha’s Wasim Mohammed closely followed by K.P Chandan and Syed Zubair of TVS Racing for the 2nd and 3rd position.
The local class saw some interesting fight between Vishal Barguje and Abijit Jhadav. But in the end Vishal Barguje did some thrilling daredevil riding to emerge as the top rider of Pune. In the privateer intermediate class Amol Temghare of Pune emerged victorious.

Vijaykumar enthralls Chennai, bags best rider award
Chennai, 1 August 2004: The 3rd round of the MRF National Motocross, a round of the FMSCI National Motocross Championship 2004 was a grand success. Huge crowds lined up the Kandaswami College Grounds in Annanagar Chennai to see the cream of the Indian Motocross talent vie with each other. And they were not disappointed as the teams of TVS and Yamaha gave a glorious display of skillful riding.
The event began with the most awaited race of the all. The Indian Experts Moto 1 Foreign Class upto 250 cc. Vijay Kumar of Team TVS Racing was the cynosure of all eyes and didn’t disappoint, as he emerged first at the first turn. With Syed Eathasam and Karan Kadam of Yamaha close on his heels, Vijay Kumar led the pack into the first 4 laps. The 5th lap proved to be a very interesting one as the 3 leaders jostled with one another for the lead. With the crowd cheering on, Karan Kadam of Yamaha was hot on the heels of Vijay Kumar. The gap between them had closed noticeably and as the crowd watched in tense anticipation, Karan was ‘black flagged’ and had to retire on safety grounds as first his seat fell off and then his number plate. Vijay Kumar went on to increase his lead and win with a comfortable margin, as Yogesh Barguje of Yamaha was unable to close the gap. Limping due to an injury suffered earlier, Vijay Kumar won the hearts of all as he showed the Chennai crowd his class act.
With all interest centering on this one race, it was no surprise as the crowd swelled as the second moto began. Vijay Kumar, battling pain, roared into the lead. With daredevil riding he slowly increased his lead as the crowd behind battled for the second and third places. Karan Kadam of Yamaha started closing the gap and almost took the lead at one stage. With the crowd urging on Vijay Kumar, he battled on till the 3rd lap, where he lost the lead to Syed Eathasham and Karan Kadam of Yamaha. As Syed took the lead a new battle began for second place. Into the 6th lap, Karan suffered an unfortunate fall enabling Vijay Kumar to whiz past. Syed won the second moto with Vijay Kumar coming in second.
With his splendid showing Vijay Kumar of Team TVS was adjudged the best rider of the day. With his daredevil riding Vijay showed Chennai crowds why he is held in such high esteem. He was the star of the day leaving no one in doubt about his immense talent.
The next race was the Novice Class, and Deepak John on a TVS Shogun shot into the lead into the first bend. Riding steadily he maintained his lead till the fifth lap of the race. Going into the turn into the 5th lap, he misjudged a turn and fell giving Wasim Mohd riding a Yamaha RX 135 to slip past him and move into the lead. And it stayed that way till the end with Mohd Wasim emerging victorious.
With crowd swelling in numbers, interest centred around the next race which was the Class 2, Indian Experts above 80 cc upto 150 cc. All eyes were again drawn to Vijay Kumar of Team TVS. T. K. Viswanath had other plans and he shot into the lead ahead of more fancy names into the first corner. However in the melee immediately post the first corner, C. Santhosh of Team TVS moved into the lead. With the crowd yelling at the top of their voices, Syed Eathasham of Yamaha bore down on Santosh and the pressure was too much for Santosh who surrendered his lead. Syed rapidly built up his lead and was being threatened by both Santosh and Vijay Kumar of Team TVS till a midfield collision between the two TVS riders allowed Yogesh Barguje to move into second place. There was no catching Yogesh however and he won with time to spare.
The next race was for Class 8 – Indian Experts above 110 c upto 250 cc. This was a fairly steady race and Bharat Kadam riding a Yamaha 250 F drove a good, steady race to win comfortably over Abhijit Jadhav.
The race for Class 5, Indian Experts above 80 cc upto 110 cc was next. C. D. Jinan of Team TVS shot into the lead. However a major spill into the 2nd lap involving some of the leaders, led to Jinan surrendering his lead to V. Lokesh. However, Shivkumar began piling on the pressure and son moved into the lead and eventually winning with some smart and effective riding.
Rustom Patel of Team TVS Racing dominated the Class 3 for Indian Experts winning with ease. B. V. Suresh and Sayed Zubair of Team TVS came second and third respectively.
ShivaKumar came back to win the Class 6, Indian Experts, race for bikes above 110cc upto 180 cc. Driving with aplomb, he ensured that he didn’t lose his lead to either Jinan or Shridhar and emerged victorious. This was his second victory for the afternoon.
Chennaites came to their feet to cheer the local class. Anandkumar drove a good race to win.

Chandigarh, 29 Feb 2004: TVS Racing dominated the first round of the MRF National Motocross Championship held in Chandigarh by winning 5 out of 6 championship races. Ace rider and reigning national motocross champion C. Vijay Kumar of TVS Racing showed his mettle by sealing top positions in both the events he participated. His daredevil skill of speed and courage earned him the ‘Best Rider of the day’ title instituted by the organisers. The crowd was in all cheers for this wonder boy as he enthralled them with his jumps in great dexterity and speed.
The bright and sunny morning at Chandigarh began with the Moto 1 of the prestigious Group A Experts Foreign Class upto 250 CC where C. Vijay Kumar leaped into lead followed closely by his counterpart H.K. Pradeep. As the race progressed both Pradeep and Yamaha’s leading rider Yogesh Barguje had a fall putting them out of contention. T. K. Vishwanath of Yamaha went ahead past other riders except Vijay Kumar of TVS Racing who had by then consolidated his initial lead and in the end took the top position with ease. It was however interesting to note that Syed Rehman of TVS Racing, who was way behind caught in a tangle, surged past top 10 riders to take the third position.
The day also ended with the Moto 2, which turned out to be a total entertainer. Three Yamaha riders shot into lead initially and it took a while for the TVS Racers to get out of a tangle they got into. Once Vijay kumar of TVS Racing, who was behind by almost a lap behind, got his coast cleared took on the riders ahead of him with ease. Though he managed to reach only a close second he was by then assured winner in the class with 37 points. Syed Eathasham of Yamaha racing who shot to a good lead managed to guard his position to come first in the second moto.
Following this TVS Racing team continued to dominate leaving no stone unturned for Yamaha to take the limelight. The Group B Indian Experts upto 150 CC was easily won by C. Vijay Kumar who was leading right through. It was however, interesting to note how Syed Rehman of TVS Racing, who once again, surged from behind beating all the riders including the Syed Eathasham of Yamaha racing at the last crossing towards the finish line to become second.
Another surprise winner of the day was the experienced C. D. Jinan of TVS Racing who took the top honours in the Group D upto 180 CC riding TVS Fiero F2. He took a formidable lead right at the beginning and maintained his pace leaving only his team mate H. K. Pradeep to offer some resistance. The only class which Yamaha Racing took number one position was the Class D Indian Experts upto 110 CC where Shivkumar of Yamaha emerged winner. Here again Syed Rehman was not too far behind him at the finish line. The second and third position in this class was sealed by TVS Racing. The novice class also saw TVS Racing taking the top honors.
Thrilled by his win, C. Vijay Kumar of TVS Racing said “This was indeed a short and challenging track and I had told myself at the beginning come what may I must bring glory to my team. It required me to put in extra effort of staying there till the end with high speeds especially at the curves and in the end it paid off.”
